- Homogeneous temperature distribution
- Easy operation with color touchscreen
- Ramp function + thermostat tests
- Computer-controlled calibrations via USB interface and optional LR-Cal Aq2Sp2 software for MS Windows® PCs
- Numerous block inserts with different bores available for different test objects
Less thermal stress for your test specimens
The LR-Cal LTC-DB-1200-35 metal dry block temperature calibrator is equipped with a counterflow forced ventilation system that keeps the temperature in the upper part of the calibrator very low. This solution makes it possible to keep the connection head or housing of the device under test very close to room temperature.
It also ensures a high level of safety for the operator, as the temperature of the grille on the top of the housing remains very low.
The figure shows a thermocouple as a test object in an LR-Cal LTC-DB-1200-35 at 1,000°C. The temperature of the connection head of the test object, measured with an optical pyrometer, is only 37.7°C, which is very close to room temperature. This test confirms the excellent insulation of this calibrator.

The test object (all types of temperature measuring devices, e.g., dial thermometers, resistance thermometers, temperature switches, thermostats, etc.) and the reference temperature measuring device (built into the calibrator or external reference) are subjected to the same test temperatures. The measured values of the reference are compared with the values of the test item. This allows conclusions to be drawn not only about the function of the test item, but also about its measuring accuracy and measured value deviation.
Please note that the information specified in the respective technical data regarding radial and axial temperature uniformity refers to specific immersion depths and may not apply to all immersion depths in every case. The temperature range specifications apply at an ambient temperature of +20°C.
The LR-Cal metal dry block temperature calibrators have an internal (built-in) reference. If its accuracy is insufficient, an external reference (with or without its own display) can be used.
Furthermore, the LR-Cal Aq2Sp2 PC software is available as an accessory for the LR-Cal metal block temperature calibrators. This software can be used to control the calibrator via its USB interface, perform manual or automatic calibration of one or more test objects, load and endurance tests, thermostat tests, and create calibration certificates.
